Lake Norman Art League Gallery to Host “Resilience”

Presenting Artists of Urban Ministry Center’s ArtWorks945 Program

The Lake Norman Art League Gallery, located in the South Main Arts District, has graciously offered to host “Resilience,” an exhibit of artists’ work from ArtWorks945, a program of the Urban Ministry Center, comprised of Charlotte artists who struggle with homelessness and urban poverty. The Urban Ministry Center is an interfaith agency serving poor and homeless people in Charlotte, NC, with love, compassion and tangible help. The ArtWorks945 program exists because of the Urban Ministry Center's recognition of the profound healing and validation that is possible through the act of creating.

The opening reception for this exhibit will take place on June 25, 2010, from 6-9 p.m., during which ArtWorks945 artists will be available to discuss their work. Entertainment at the opening will include live music and readings from several poets from the ArtWorks945 program.

The exhibit will open June 22, 2010, and will remain on display through July 9, 2010, and can be viewed at the Business Center at South Main Square, 442 S. Main Street, Davidson, NC, during regular business hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. The building is located across the street from Wooden Stone, next to Masterworks; enter at the rear of the building, and turn right into the lobby – free parking is available. Lake Norman Art League and ArtWorks945 representatives are available by appointment only, except during the opening reception. Admission is free and open to the public.
