MHA Paintout - "Capturing Mint Hill," October 21-22
Artist Information

Registration: All painters must register. Artists may register in advance by going on-line at, or in person at the Mint Hill Arts gallery. Day-of-event registration is open on Friday-Saturday, Oct 21-22, 7:30- 9 a.m. at Mint Hill Arts, 11205 Lawyers Road, Mint Hill.

Entry fee is $15 for advance registration or $20 on the days of the event.

Painters who have pre-registered must still check-in during registration hours. All painting surfaces (canvas, paper, board, etc. ) must be stamped by MHA before painting to qualify for the show.

Artists will be given a packet at registration that will contain a map with instructions, name tag, artist labels, and some other goodies.

Judge: Paul Keysar

Awards: First Prize $100, second $75, third $50 (these are minimums; we hope to secure higher awards so watch for updates).

Saturday evening “wet paint sale” and awards ceremony 5:30-7PM. At the close of the “paint out” artists are invited to participate in the competition and sale. Work for the show must be delivered to Mint Hill Arts no later than 3 PM on Saturday and should be ready for display. Each artist may submit up to three paintings for judging. After judging is complete, the doors will be open to the public for the awards ceremony and sale. Sales will be handled by MHA so patrons will be able to pay by credit cards. MHA will collect 20% commission on sales and the proceeds (less MHA commission) will be sent to artists after the event.

Mint Hill Town Hall Exhibit: Each artist who participates in the “paint out” may designate 2 or 3 pieces to be displayed at a special exhibition at the Mint Hill Town Hall Gallery. This work must be framed and wired for hanging, and work that is ready on the 22nd may be submitted that evening at the gallery. Otherwise, work can be brought directly to the town hall on November 3rd between 9 and 10AM. There is no entry fee for this show and work can be available for sale throughout the duration of the exhibit (November-December). There will be an opening reception at the Town Hall on November 5th.
