February 2015 Show: "I Love..."





Open To:
All members and non-members of Mint Hill Arts.

Theme:
"I LOVE..." Honor your favorite Valentine, cause, place, pet, team, or whatever, with an original artistic creation that expresses your PASSION Here's an opportunity to let your imagination and creative juices flow...Get creative and show us what you LOVE in any medium.

Intake:
Friday, January 30: 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, January 31: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Pickup for the December show is during these same hours.

Free Opening Reception:
Friday, February 6 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Fees:
MHA Members: $10 per artist for up to 4 pieces.
Non-members: $30 per artist for up to 4 pieces.

Rules:
> Each artist may enter up to four 2D or 3D pieces.
> All work must be original.
> All artwork must be properly framed and wired. If your work does not require a frame, hanging must be thought out so it is ready to be displayed
> All artists must fill out our Gallery Registration Form and affix our Intake Labels. See below for more information and links to these forms. Save time at Intake by printing and filling them out then bring them in with your artwork. Labels will be available at Intake for those who choose to fill them out in the gallery
> Mint Hill Arts accepts all artwork unless it is unsafe to exhibit or shows very inappropriate subject matter. We welcome new faces and "unusual" artwork. Creative thinking and expression are the things that make your work special!
> Entering artists must be 18 years old or have written permission from a parent/guardian.
> All artwork must remain in the show until its closing. If you have an emergency and must remove your artwork, you must notify Mint Hill Arts and make arrangements for the early removal

Commissions:
Mint Hill Arts requires a commission on all work sold through our gallery.
> Active (volunteering) members pay 15%
> General members pay 20%
> Non-members pay 40%

You do not have to put your work up for sale, it is your choice. All sold work can be picked up by the buyer at the end of each monthly show. All checks should be made payable to Mint Hill Arts.

Sizes:
> 2-D work cannot exceed 48" x 60" vertically or horizontally.
> 3-D work cannot exceed a 36" footprint x 7' in height. It must fit through the door.

Pick-up for this show will be during March Intake. Please note that all artwork must be picked up. We do not have storage space for work not picked up.




March 2015 Show: Annual Photography Competition and Exhibit



Open To:
All members and non-members of Mint Hill Arts.

Theme:
All photography is welcome.

Intake:
Friday, February 27: 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, February 28: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Pickup for the February show is during these same hours.

Free Opening Reception:
Friday, March 6 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Winners announced at 7:30 p.m.

Fees:
MHA Members: $10 per artist for up to 4 pieces.
Non-members: $30 per artist for up to 4 pieces.

Prizes:
Best in Show: $200
First Place: $150
Second Place: $100
Third Place: $75
Four Honorable Mentions will be awarded a $25 gift certificate each.
