Intake: Friday, June 6: 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, June 7: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Pick-up for the May show is at the same times.
Opening Reception: Friday, June 13 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Awards will be announced around 8:00 p.m.
Judging: This is a judged show. An impartial judging panel
from Binders will use a formal point system.
Prizes: Best in Show: $150 Binders Gift Certificate.
First Place: $100 Binders Gift Certificate.
Second Place: $75 Binders Gift Certificate.
Third Place: $50 Binders Gift Certificate.
Six Honorable Mentions: $25 Binders Gift Certificates.
Framing and Sizes: > 2-D cannot exceed 60" x 60 " vertically or horizontally.
> 3-D work cannot exceed a 36" footprint x 7' in height.
Rules: > Each artist may enter up to four (4) individual pieces in any 2-D or 3-D discipline,
including, oils, watercolors, acrylics, pastels, pencil, ink, dyes, fabric, wood, metal, glass, plastic,
chalk, charcoal, paper, mixed media, foam, cardboard, plaster, ceramics, welding, casting, resin,
photography [conventional film or computer enhanced or generated], lithographs, serigraphs, batiks,
paper mache', or any other material.
> There are no categories; each piece will compete on its own against all others.
> ALL entries must be original works of art. No giclees. We understand that photography is,
by nature, a print and will be regarded as original art.
> Students may enter but only if the instructor has not touched the artwork. All work must be done by the artist.
Reproductions of work done by other artists will be disqualified from the judging.
> All 2D artwork must be properly framed and wired (see below for more information).
If your 2-D work does not require a frame, hanging must be thought out so it is ready to be displayed.
> All artists must fill out our Gallery Registration Form and affix our Intake Labels.
See the Forms page on our website for links to these forms. It will save you time at Intake to print them,
fill them out and bring them in with your artwork, but they will be available at Intake for those who choose
to fill them out in the gallery.
> Mint Hill Arts reserves the right to turn down any artwork that it deems as inappropriate,
unsafe for public display or too difficult to install.
> Entering artists must be 18 years old or have written permission from a parent/guardian.
Fees: > Mint Hill Arts Members: $20 per artist for up to 4 pieces.
> Mint Hill Arts Non-Members: $40 per artist for up to 4 pieces.
Commissions: Mint Hill Arts requires a commission on all work sold through our gallery.
> Active (volunteering) members - 15%
> General members - 20%
> Non-members - 40%
All proceeds from sales go to Mint Hill Arts, an all-volunteer non-profit art organization.
You do not have to put your work up for sale, it is your choice.
All sold work can be picked up by the buyer at the end of each monthly show.
Pick-up for this show will be during July Intake. July 12 and 13.
Please note that all artwork must be picked up. We do not have storage space for work not picked up.
